Standardized Testing Information

 PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)
Date:                           Wednesday, 10/14/08
Time:                          7:45 – 12:00 noon
Who attends:            Sophomores and Juniors
Description:               This standardized test, administered every October to sophomores                                      and juniors, provides practice for the SAT Reasoning Test in the
                                    areas of critical reading and mathematics. It also allows juniors the                                     opportunity to qualify for recognition and college scholarships
                                    conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. 

PLAN (Preliminary ACT)
Date:                           12/10/08
Time:                          7:45 – 12:00 noon
Who attends:            Sophomores
Description:              This test, offered for the first time by SJD, is a curriculum-based
                                    assessment that measures academic achievement in English,
                                    mathematics, reading, and science.  It serves as a predictor of
                                    performance on the ACT and identifies areas of academic need.

Look Who’s Coming to San Juan Diego!

These college visits are scheduled during the school day and are open to ALL students. In order to attend, students must obtain a permission slip from Ms. Jasper in the college office at least 24 hours in advance of the visit and get the signature of the teacher whose class will be missed.
