Minutes of April 8th Parent Association Meeting

Festival de San Juan Diego - Please contact Jennifer Mendez to let her know how you can help. At this time, help with Set up from 6 to 7 and Tearing down from 10 to 11 is needed. There will also be a volunteer opportunity to help with the assembly of items to be distributed at the event. This will take place on Saturday, April 12 th at 10:00 am at the picnic tables at the school. Our students can earn service hours for this. In addition, students from St. Edwards will also be there to help with this. We are grateful for their help. Transportation to the event will be provided for all students with signed permission slips. We cannot stress enough the importance of parent participation to make this event a success!

Treasurer’s Report: As of the meeting date, the total in the Parent Association account is $3,924.91. We have planned to give $1,000.00 to the Festival, $800 for the Athletic Banquet, $750 for the Senior Gift, and $900 to Prom. And not yet deposited is $600+ from the student lunches.

At the Bake Sale from Sunday, April 6 th, we made $280.55. Special thanks to the Gartska Family for sending a great batch of banana bread. And special thanks to Ms Chely Gloria’s 3yr old class for the donation box they prepared for the bake sale. We expect to use it for future events as well!

Athletic and Venture Crew Banquet – Scheduled for Friday, April 25 th at 6:00 pm to 8:30 at our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall. Help is needed to plan this event. We welcome your ideas. Dinner will be served. Cost for family members is $7 per person. Coaches and athletes will be free. RSVP prior to April 21 st please.

Faculty/Student Soccer Game – Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 at the South Austin Recreation Center (fields). Come out and support the teams!

Election of Officers for next school year. As of this evening, Aneida Ramos has decided to continue as an officer, Chely Gloria has interest as Sophomore Rep, and Chantel Ullrich-Eberly has expressed her interest as well. Elections to be held at our May meeting.

Next Parent Association Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
